Light-Wheel Vehicle Mechanic

 

Job Description

Got a knack for keeping cars and trucks on the road? Then join the Army National Guard as a Light-Wheel Vehicle Mechanic and help keep freedom moving forward.

 

As a Light-Wheel Vehicle Mechanic, you will have the opportunity to supervise and perform unit maintenance and recovery operations on gasoline- and diesel- fueled light-wheeled vehicles. In short, if it's on wheels, you'll work on it. And after your paid training, you'll be qualified to maintain and repair any number of vehicle systems and components, preparing you to step right into a civilian vehicle maintenance career.

Get paid to learn! Join the Guard and you will learn valuable job skills while earning a regular paycheck and qualifying for tuition assistance.

 

Job training requires nine weeks of Basic Training, where you'll learn basic Soldiering skills, and 10 weeks of Advanced Individual Training (AIT). Part of this time is spent in the classroom and part in the field.

Requirements

                   High School Diploma or GED (If you do not have a diploma or GED, you may still apply - ask a recruiter about how the Army National Guard can help you earn your GED.)

                   Must be between the ages of 17 and 35

                   Must be able to pass a physical exam and meet legal and moral standards

                   Must meet citizenship requirements (see for details)
